Ian Walker is one of Australia’s most experienced podcast content creators and a seasoned TV documentary maker.​
 

In his role as Executive Producer with ABC Audio Studios, Ian was best known for his award-winning narrative non-fiction work, including history blockbuster The Eleventh and the ABC’s wildly popular and pioneering Unravel True Crime.  The show has won multiple awards with more than twelve million downloads over five seasons.  He was also founding Executive Producer of the much-loved ABC flagship storytelling podcast Days Like These and history podcast DiG.

Since establishing the ABC’s fledgling podcast unit First Run in 2015, Ian has helped develop, commission and launch more than a dozen new podcasts across multiple genres including the hit kids show Short & Curly, Tall Tales & True, The Real Thing, Burn Your Passport, The Tokyo Hotel and Little Tiny.

Before podcasting, Ian won awards for his TV documentary work, including I, Psychopath (2007) and has made more than a dozen radio features.  His Executive Producer experience extends across TV, radio and digital platforms (ABC Open and Big Ideas TV).  Ian has a Master of Arts (Directing Documentary) from AFTRS (where he now teaches) and is a former Triple J newsreader and published author.
